I was found guilty on the charge of first degree murder and sentenced to serve the remainder of my life in prison on September 16th, 2015. I was in my vehicle during the time of this incident of the night in question. I filed multiple complaints with the Claiborne county sheriff's department and the city District Attorney Michael Keyton. I as well as a few members of my family begged for help on multiple accounts prior to the night in question. I never recieved any help from any of the prior complaints, which are all documented. On the night of this incident I was approached by the deceased after he had already shot at me several of times on multiple occasions in prior incidents that I reported. The deceased also shot at two of my cousins, yet nothing was ever done about the situation. Claiborne county knew of all the prior incidents but never cared to investigate or make any arrests. I went to the "Shaw's house" that night to pick up the female that I was dealing with, which was his cousin. And that's when the deceased approached me with a gun. I acted in self defense, all I am asking is to be heard. I never spoke out because my attorney (Cynthia Stewart) at the time advised me not to. She said she would present everything which included all the witnesses statements to prior incidents, police reports, visual and factual evidence of threats made againt me. My family has been hurt as well as the opposing people family. Which all could have been avoided if Claiborne county hadn't been negligent and did their job and upheld their oath to protect and serve. If all of the evidence that was and wasn't presented during my trial as well as the newly found evidence that has been discovered be seen, heard, and reviewed, could be life changing for me and send me home. My only hope is to get out and get back to the life of a real father. I left 10 kids out there and I pray day and night to get back to them. Please sign my petition and share my story.
