Families in Amarillo, Texas, are FURIOUS and DEVASTATED by Llano Cemetery’s SHAMEFUL MISHANDLING of their loved ones’ remains. As Grave Advocate, I’ve exposed this OUTRAGE through SHOCKING VIDEOS on Instagram, Facebook and other social media, including a leaked Snapchat clip and footage from 1.28.2025.  These reveal WRONGFUL BURIALS, predating my employment: remains moved WITHOUT FAMILY CONSENT due to ERRORS IGNORED FOR YEARS.

One family learned their loved one’s grave was OCCUPIED BY ANOTHER FOR 15 YEARS.

Another family’s veteran relative was RELOCATED without a word. MANAGEMENT KNEW, and I PERSONALLY INFORMED the BOARD PRESIDENT in SEPTEMBER 2024 about these WRONGFUL BURIALS, yet NO CHANGES WERE IMPLEMENTED. 

Llano Cemetery, a HISTORIC NON-PROFIT, has the right to correct mistakes but is LEGALLY AND MORALLY OBLIGATED to INFORM FAMILIES. THEY ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW. When I, a former Llano employee, asked management if families would be told, I was told, “WE WANT TO KEEP THAT AS QUIET AS POSSIBLE.” This COVER-UP is UNFORGIVABLE.

While MANAGEMENT and the BOARD PRESIDENT STAYED SILENT, I PERSONALLY have CONTACTED FAMILIES. TELLING FAMILIES IS A SICKENING FEELING - their HEARTBREAK and ANGER, fuel this fight.

MANAGEMENT’S NEGLIGENCE allowed POLICIES TO BE IGNORED: graves were NOT PROBED as required, leading to WRONGFUL BURIALS. The EMPLOYEE who RECORDED the SNAPCHAT VIDEO exposing a 15-YEAR ERROR was FIRED, yet the PERSON RESPONSIBLE for PROBING GRAVES, who is BLOOD RELATED TO an employee who is IN MANAGEMENT and employed at Llano 54 YEARS WAS NOT FIRED. The GROUNDS SUPERINTENDENT, tasked with FINAL CHECKS BEFORE DIGGING, FAILED to ENSURE ACCURACY but was NOT FIRED.

In a SHOCKING BREACH, an EMPLOYEE DROVE a HEARSE with BODIES AFTER SERVICES to the correct graves, while a local FUNERAL DIRECTOR GAVE THEM THE HEARSE KEYS and TOOK the EMPLOYEE’S KEYS to GO SHOP at SAM’S CLUB, abandoning their duties as a funeral director.

LLANO CEMETERY CANCELLED HUNDREDS OF CONTRACTS and REMOVED HEADSTONES for NON-PAYMENT for some, while SPARING OTHERS.  This INCONSISTENT, UNFAIR PRACTICE has HARMED COUNTLESS FAMILIES.

The BOARD OF DIRECTORS, led by a president who KNEW SINCE SEPTEMBER 2024 but FAILED to ACT, has allowed a CORRUPT SYSTEM riddled with NEPOTISM to persist. An URGENT AUDIT is needed to expose this LAWLESSNESS.

Through Grave Advocate, I demand:

1.  FIRE ALL LLANO MANAGEMENT and REPLACE the ENTIRE BOARD OF DIRECTORS for their NEGLIGENCE, COVER-UP, and FAILURE to ACT.

2.  INDEPENDENT AUDIT of ALL BURIAL RECORDS, ALL CONTRACTS, ALL HEADSTONE REMOVALS, and ALL PROCEDURES to uncover DECADES-LONG INCONSISTENCIES.

3. MANDATORY NOTIFICATION of EVERY AFFECTED FAMILY with FULL TRANSPARENCY.

4. JUSTICE for families, including MAJOR FINANCIAL COMPENSATION TO THE FAMILIES AND PROPER REBURIALS.

5. EXAMINE ALL BIDS to FORMER BOARD MEMBERS WHO WON BIDS FOR WORK AT LLANO and FIRED EMPLOYEES for CONFLICTS OF INTEREST.

6. REVOKE LLANO CEMETERY’S NON-PROFIT STATUS if found to have violated ANY LAW 

NO FAMILY SHOULD ENDURE THIS PAIN. 

SIGN NOW to DEMAND THE REMOVAL OF ALL MANAGEMENT, the BOARD and a FULL AUDIT to RESTORE DIGNITY to our deceased.

Grave Advocate will NOT STOP UNTIL JUSTICE IS SERVED.
