Measles, a preventable and incredibly infections[1] disease, is on the rise.[2]

This happens at the same time that the Anti-Vaccination movement is growing[3], and contributing to the problem by making more people susceptible to the disease.

The Anti-Vaccination movement can trace it's roots mostly to a man named Andrew Wakefield. A doctor, who in 1998, authored a fraudulent paper linking autism to vaccines[4]. This lost him the ability to practice medicine, but hasn't stopped him from publishing other books and giving talks at conferences, continuing to spread his dangerous misinformation.

The current rise of Measles is the legacy of Andrew Wakefield, and people should have a name attached to that.

And it's easy to do. Just make this idea popular on the internet, and it'll take care of itself. The WHO doesn't support naming diseases this way[5], but I think it'd be fun to get their attention anyway.
