#BLACKLIVESMATTER it's not over just because you decide it is.

O problema

I made this shortly after the death of George Floyd, 3 years ago. May 25th 2020. I heard about it one day after, it was my birthday, and that was my "present". I was a 15 years old mixed girl full of rage, so I made a whole paragraph and posted it here. Now looking back it was just a bunch of aggressive words demanding to be heard. I never thought someone would actually pay attention, but more than 53.000 people did. And now, a little older, I think I can put it in better words.

As a said, I'm a mixed girl. As if being a woman isn't enough, I have to deal with racism from time to time. But I'm privileged in that matter, because I live in a european country where racism doesn't get you killed that often.

Black lives matter. That's not an opinion, that's a fact, because all lives matter. The problem is, you can't claim that all lives matter, because currently black lives don't. You see, they're not in the same level. So yes, all lives matter, and black lives matter. But all lives can't matter until black lives matter. And I'm not claiming that this is the only fight we're fighting nor it's the best, but it's the one I fight. BLM doesn't mean that black lives are better than white lives, asian lives, trans lives, LGBTQIA+ lives. "BLM" means "black lives matter as much as all the others".

And you don't get to decide that someone it's not worth of human rights. You have no business on that. You kiss your mother with the same mouth you use to insult black people. You hold your baby with the same hands that you use to pull the trigger. How do you feel about that? How do you feel knowing that your words have power, that your actions matter, and you are using them to tell other people that their words and actions don't? Are u ashamed because you ruined someone's life? Do you feel guilty? Do you think it's fair? And if you're a police officer, your duty is to protect the citizens, and that's why you have the power you have. And you use it to kill citizens? Does it even make sense? Imagine how terrible it is to be teach since you're a kid that you can't trust the ones who are suppose to protect you. Who are black people gonna trust when it comes to justice? Does it really matters if they live an honest life, if they're gonna be the one's called guilty in the end?

If the boot fits anyone, congratulations, you're racist. If it doesn't fit you, please do something. "i can't make a difference" yes you can. You have that power as a person. Some of us have it more, but you can always do something. Talk with your friends. Talk with your family. Make a public post online. Don't be ashamed of defending basic human's rights, even when you're in a racist environment. Never be afraid of speaking the truth. Racism is cruel, racism is real, and it affects a lot of people, even now. Not much have really change, but people generally forget about it until the next big victim. It's not only about George floyd. It's about Michael Brown. Tamir Rice. Walter Scott. Philando Castile. Stephon Clark. Breonna Taylor. Daunte Wright. This are the names we can't forget. But they're not the only ones, in fact, they're just a small portion of them. This is for all of them, and for all of the nameless faces and faceless names out there that deal with racism. It's a never-ending fight, but I strongly believe it's a cause with a lot of fighters. If we keep doing it, we'll reach it.

Stop being racist.

Stop corruption in justice for black people.

Stop the police supremacy.

Arrest the murderers.

Arrest the murderers.

Arrest. The. Murderers.

They're murderers. "they have lives" so did the victims.

Be aware. Don't neglect a racism victim, you're being racist too.

It's just a skin color, why are you so afraid of it?
