In memory of the five lives tragically lost between the intersection of Diddillibah Road and Woombye, and in the hope of preventing any future tragedies, we must urgently address the prevalent problem of speeding. Yesterday, a dear friend nearly lost their life at this intersection, a terrifying incident that underlines the urgency of our request. Reckless drivers, classified by the community as "hoons," continue to pose a risk to the safety of everyone utilizing these roads.

Our solution is twofold. Firstly, we must reduce the speed limit on Diddillibah Road and Nambour Connection Road to 60 kilometers per hour. This proposed speed limit is not arbitrary; studies suggest that a decrease in traveling speed dramatically reduces the incidence and severity of road accidents (World Health Organization, 2018). Secondly, we spotlight the need for the installation of a surveillance camera on the corner of Diddillibah Road and Nambour Connection Road. Camera systems have proven effective in deterring potential speeders and identifying those who break the law (Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development, 2017).
