Woodstock For Housing

Woodstock For Housing
The Issue
To the esteemed ZBA and members of our various town boards,
We would like to express our concerns regarding the ongoing appeals from the Woodstock Land Conservancy and the Stop Zena Development organizations. It appears that these groups, motivated by their own interests and single-issue views, are utilizing delay tactics with the intent to obstruct important development projects in our community.
The Zena Development project currently under consideration is an as-of-right proposal on privately owned land, designed to address our housing supply challenges. The site is appropriately zoned for residential development, and the proposed plan encompasses less than 40% of its development potential. Furthermore, the developer has committed to environmental standards that exceed the requirements set forth by the town.
We believe it is essential to focus on the facts when evaluating proposals submitted to our town's board. We trust that the board will carefully consider all aspects of this matter and see through any distractions that do not pertain to the project's merits. We hope for a timely resolution to this appeal, enabling the process to move forward resulting in a responsible and well-constructed project plan. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Concerned members of the community
