The aim of this petition is to get the government to add a consent course/workshop into the 2nd level education curriculum in Ireland. I believe this will help prevent assault situations, we need to educate these young people on consent, sexual assault/harassment. 

Recently in my town a young girl was sexually assaulted by her peers, it was videoed and sent around! According to the NSVRC 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually assaulted before they turn 18. We all have information about where to go AFTER the assault takes place but no information on how to PREVENT such situations. It is happening to these young people so we need to start to educate them while they are young! 

I have emailed multiple TDs and the minister for education in order to receive more information on how I can go about getting this added into the curriculum. 

As a college student I have been able to learn a lot of information about sexual assault and consent but it’s too late by the time we are 18 as many of us have already experienced this abuse. Please spread this petition!
