Sanay Yağmur, one of the activists of the feminist movement in Azerbaijan, now needs our support.
2 years ago, when she was 16, Sanay became a victim of sexual abuse. Since 2020, she and her mother ZümrüdYağmur (a political activist in the opposition) have been unable to obtain legal justice. All they demand is a fair trial.
Dozens of interrogations during the investigation, in which Sanay's rights were violated, the psychological abuse she got from the law enforcement agencies, and the trial that lasts several months make to think that the law enforcement and judicial system is doing everything to justify the criminal or punish him as less as possible, disproportionately to the crime.
The next trial takes place on September  (I am already confused about its number). Whether a decision will be made or again it will be postponed for far-fetched reasons remains unknown. To avoid violation of the rights of Sanay Yağmurand to achieve a fair trial, I ask you:
- To draw the attention of the President and the Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to Sanay's problem on their Twitter profiles using various relevant hashtags in order to encourage them to take personal control of sexual assault cases.
- To draw the attention of the President and the Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to Sanay's problem on their official Facebook pages to Sanay's issue with hashtags and calls in order to ensure the right to a fair trial.

P.S. Sanay's mother, Zümrüd Yağmur, also had problems due to these lawsuits. A reciprocal lawsuit has been filed against Zümrüd Yağmur for so-called “insulting honor and dignity” because she covered her daughter's problem in the media.
P.P.S. In Azerbaijan, underage girls face sexual violence regularly. Usually, fearing public blame and censure that their daughter will be reputed as "tarnished", families try to hide these kinds of issues. Sanay Yağmur is not afraid and challenges society to prove that it is impossible to remain silent about sexual violence. She is pretty smart and does well! Please support Sanay in her difficult times.
