Give dog-killer Kai Tomlinson the maximum sentence available to the court
The Issue
Kai Lewis Dale Tomlinson pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a young Cavalier King Charles spaniel, called Holly, which led to her death. He is due to be sentenced on 15 June.
This was an unprovoked violent attack carried out by Kai Tomlinson in anger following an argument with his girlfriend. Holly was his girlfriend's dog and he killed the dog to get back at her. In a prolonged attack he kicked the tiny dog repeatedly on the head and body until she died. Vets said that Holly would have suffered hugely both physically and mentally prior to dying.
Aside from his propensity for inflicting violence and terror on a defenceless animal. Tomlinson then attempted to cover his tracks. He buried Holly's body in the garden and lied to his girlfriend that Holly had been hit by a car. He also lied to police.
We would like the court to make an example of Kai Tomlinson and demonstrate to the British people that animal cruelty is a serious matter that will be punished to the full extent of the law. The fact that Tomlinson lied and only backed down due to the weight of evidence against him should attract an additional punishment.
