Monitoring the Safeguarding of Young People and Vulnerable Adults is a responsibility of us all, but Local Authorities have a responsibility to monitor instances of Abuse and Neglect in these areas.

Local Authorities, like Wiltshire Council, also have a responsibility to support struggling Children & Families and provide Social Care to the variously Disabled & Elderly, many of whom are Vulnerable.

Since 2011 I have been observing and receiving reports from workers, of serious failings in these areas of Community Care, Education, Disability Services, and provision of safe Community Spaces & Activities.

The emphasis of Wiltshire Council is clearly on generating income for themselves, to cover the growing Executive Salaries and generous expenses provided those executives and Councillors.

Wiltshire Council are selling off many ‘community owned’ Community Facilities and encouraging the building of high profit Housing Estates for sale in the private sector, including for Private Landlords.

As a result we have a growing and aging population with increased demands, while we have reducing community infrastructure, services, assets, resources, and community facilities.

Another problem results from the fact that Wiltshire is a Conservative controlled Council operating under a Conservative Government Policies and in the interest of a Conservative philosophy.

Wiltshire therefore has a bias towards Tory Government Policies and Restrictions. The wishes of Wiltshire Towns and Parishes Planning & Developments are largely ignored or overridden.

Basically, Wiltshire Council does not represent the wishes of Wiltshire People and does not adequately meet the needs of the majority of Wiltshire people, especially the most vulnerable.

Basically, Wiltshire Council is ‘Not Fit For Purpose’ in the most fundamental sense and should be made tio account for all its Service Shortfalls of the last 10 years or more.
