Thank you to the parents, students, teachers, and concerned neighbors who showed up last night and stayed engaged well into the evening.

At last night’s STIC meeting, committee member Renata put forward a motion to elevate Option 8, which was successfully approved. This outcome removes Williams from the closure list and reduces the total number of proposed school closures from nine to five.

What’s next:

  • The SJUSD Board will hold a study session on March 21.
  • A final decision will be made at the March 26 SJUSD Board meeting.
  • The Board may adopt Option 8 as proposed, modify it, or introduce a new recommendation.
  • We ask everyone to continue standing together in support and solidarity with the schools and children impacted under Option 8.
