As Hennepin County, Minnesota's district attorney between 1999 and 2007, Amy Klobuchar refused to prosecute over a dozen officers accused of killing civilians. This included Derek Chauvin, a killer cop who had 18 previous complaints against him and who murdered George Floyd on May 25th, 2020. 

In 2006, Chauvin was one of the officers that shot, and killed a Latino man, Wayne Reyes with a total of 16 bullets that penetratedi his body and a total of 42 rounds that were shot. 

In 2008, Chauvin shot and killed Ira Latrell Toles, an unarmed 21 year old black man. 

In 2011 Chauvin was put on leave for an inappropriate police shooting of Leroy Martinez, an Alaskan Native American man. 

Instead of pressing charges against Chauvin and other police officers involved in police brutality complaints, Klobuchar over charged for petty crimes such as j-walking as a “crime deterant." Amy Klobuchar has blood on her hands since she let Derek Chauvin walk free, and back on the job to kill again, and again, and again. 

We demand that Amy Klobuchar be removed immediately as the Nevada Democratic keynote speaker for the 2020 State Convention. Tough on crime DA’s who enable killer cops should not be rewarded with key note addresses. The Nevada Democratic platform states that the NV Dems promote "accountable and transparent policing, and unbiased prosecution." It is clear that Amy Klobuchar was biased during her time as District Attorney. Therefore by inviting her to speak goes against the Nevada Democratic party values, and the entire party's values as a whole.
