It’s time our Government took care of the Seniors, from month to month , an example would be Myself:

Income: O.A.S.- $580.00 per month

C.P.P.- $220.00 per month

O.S.I.- $800 per month 

Total Income: $1700.00 per month

Food- depends on what’s left of to spend

Rent-$1219.45 per month

Hydro- $50.00 per month

Phone- $45.00 per month

Food- Approximately $ 250.00 per month

Insurance- Car-Apartment-$130.00

Total expenses- appx $ 1700.00 per month 

So now what do I do for an entire month with a dime to spend on anything.

I have applied for seniors apartments at 7 different places and they all say the same thing 7-10 years waiting list, I’am 74 years old this coming August,I have had Cancer twice- Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer. I now have kidney issues- Breathing problems and Osteoporosis, which continues to impede my mobility issues, at this age a person should not have to worry about, Rent,Hydro, Food, Insurance,Travel expenses and just surviving from one month to the next.
When will the government step up and start giving its Seniors Relief from all these problems, we need to sleep at night knowing that our bills are all paid- there’s food in the cupboards and that our rent and all our bills are paid. My Doctor once told me that we should change the leading cause of DEATH in this Country to STRESS, as that’s what’s causing death. There are nights when I hardly sleep at all worrying about where I’am going to get my next meal from, or if I should put the names of all my bills in a hat and pick out one to see who gets paid each month.

PLEASE,  let’s do something to get the government to understand what Seniors are worried about every day of every month.With all the stress of all these problems plus food prices now going through the roof in the coming months everyone will see more seniors Dying,Starving, going without food just so they can pay their rent, more seniors will have severe mental health issues, this will cause the health care in Canada to be more and more overwhelmed. Why should OUR Seniors suffer like this. 
We realize that new housing is being built, more seniors homes, more health care, the unfortunate part of all this is .

come together people and let your voices be heard, explain in writing to your MPP exactly what your concerns are, as the saying goes,
