Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council and the favourite to be the appointed Mayor of "Greater Manchester" held a Q & A session on twitter regarding devolution at #DevoMancQT He admitted he does not support referendums. I asked whether he was a dictator and he gave no reply. In response to a question about Wigan in Greater Manchester and in Lancashire he said Wigan's links to Lancashire are historic - no point harking back. I asked him whether he was a "Manchester Nationalist" he denied this but said Wigan is inextricably linked to Greater Manchester. Others asked if this is so give the people a vote in/out referendum. He gave no reply. Wigan Borough's presence was strong and has been left in no doubt of our growing campaign. He was told :- "Devo Manc ? No thanks. We're Lancs."
