The campaign for an in/out referendum from Greater Manchester for Wigan Borough and its townships is now receiving support from a range of campaigning groups and various political organisations. Clearly the argument for a straight forward in/out referendum is overwhelming and growing. If and when Wigan Borough leaves Greater Manchester our ties to the County of Lancashire are immediately strengthened by the complete removal of any confusion with "Greater Manchester" falsely promoted by the Manchester-centric media.
