Why a “Verbal Ban” in Govardhan (Mathura)? Issue a Written Order or Stop the Pressure

The Issue

Description:
A serious and concerning situation has emerged in the Govardhan area of Mathura ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.

Residents are being verbally informed by local police and authorities that Qurbani (animal sacrifice) will not be allowed in the area.

However, the key question is — if such a restriction exists, where is the written order?

There has been:

No official notification
No public आदेश (order)
No clear legal communication

Yet, on the ground:

People are being discouraged and stopped
An atmosphere of fear is being created
Law-abiding citizens are being forced to step back from their practices
Is the rule of law now being replaced by verbal instructions?

This petition is not about confrontation.
It is about accountability, transparency, and lawful governance.

  • If the administration believes any restriction is necessary due to law and order or sensitivity, then:
👉 A written order must be issued
👉 The legal basis must be clearly mentioned
👉 The exact scope and area of restriction must be defined

  • Most importantly:
👉 Are lawful practices in private premises, conducted with full compliance of hygiene, animal welfare, and public order laws, allowed or not?

Using verbal warnings to create fear and confusion is neither appropriate nor legally sound.
In a democratic system, citizens deserve clarity — not uncertainty.

If such informal pressure is accepted today, it sets a dangerous precedent for tomorrow.

We demand that the authorities:

Issue an immediate written and public clarification
Stop imposing restrictions through verbal pressure
Ensure fair, transparent, and lawful treatment of all citizens
This is not just about one community.

This is about rule of law, transparency, and citizens’ rights.

If you believe governance should be based on law, not verbal orders — support this petition.
