James Blankenship, 30, of Morrow County, Ohio man was found guilty of being part of a crime trio that authorities say stole cash, electronics, ANIMAL MEDICINE and a puppy from Ohio animal shelters last year."
He was charged with "12 felony counts that include engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, breaking and entering and safecracking."
"Prosecutors said drug habits were fed by the well-planned, early-morning heists in 16 counties: Ashland, Champaign, Delaware, Hancock, Hardin, Huron, Knox, Logan, Madison, Marion, Medina, Morrow, Muskingum, Seneca, Union and Wayne."
"Shelter operators testified of broken doors and windows and thousands of dollars in stolen equipment, CASH & DRUGS."
Why aren't Ohio animal hospitals and animal shelters inspected and monitored? These sites can be sources of disease that spreads not only among the animals, but also between animals and humans. These facilities house veterinary drugs, which need to be monitored.
