Demand Omaha Police Department Actively Investigate the Disappearance of Marialice Clark.
The Issue
Omaha Police Department needs to investigate the disappearance of Marialice Clark. A 14-year-old Marialice Clark vanished almost 50 years ago, in August of 1972, from Omaha, Nebraska. She had left to visit a friend who lived in the neighborhood, but never returned. Omaha Police Department refer to her as "Absent" and treat her case file accordingly. There is a general lack of urgency, even with new leads coming in.
There isn't much known about the disappearance of Marialice Clark, but if you search for information online, you will find her name tied to the controversial conviction of two men who were affiliated with the Black Panther Party and an anti-fascist political group. When Marialice was just 12-years-old, she was named in a federal ATF affidavit as having reportedly seen a large collection of foreign-made firearms and explosives, which she described in intricate detail.
Law enforcement is clearly not forthcoming with any progress in locating Marialice, or uncovering what might have happened to her. They've been unresponsive to many attempts to get answers from family and investigative journalists, trying to make sense of what happened to this child. Marialice likely met with foul play, at the hands of a person or persons, that may to this day be amongst us, and possibly hold positions of authority.
Time for accountability. Time for peace for the family. Justice for Marialice.
