Create a ballerina Emoji - shoe emojis are either red high heels (sex) heavy boots (masculine) or frumpy sandals
The Issue
Millions of stylish women with busy lives around the world wear ballerina pumps. They allow the wearer to rush around, in comfort, and still look great. In social media there is no ballerina pump emoji :- the only shoe Emojis that exist show red sky high heels or something like a boot a coal miner would wear or a sandal that your grandmother might have worn in the 1970s. The message is clear - either women are sex objects or they are like men or old women. We think (and we declare our bias and personal interest in the debate - we have a ballerina brand called Pretty Ballerinas) that the ballerina is the perfect shoe - it looks good, it´s neither trying to be sexy nor trying not to be and is the nearest thing to an extra skin covering the shape of the foot that you can have.
Help us promote real footwear for real women with busy productive lives and sign our petition.
