We support Whatnot. We support giveaways. We support legitimate free entry where required by law.

But sellers are increasingly concerned about systematic giveaway abuse, where accounts can repeatedly enter Buyer Appreciation Giveaways without meaningfully participating in the marketplace.

Sellers provide the prizes, pay the shipping, and absorb the cost of these promotions. We are asking Whatnot to use the data and technology it already has to identify and address unusual, giveaway-only behavior.

We’re NOT asking Whatnot to eliminate legally required free entry.

We’re asking Whatnot to:

• Protect legitimate alternative entry
• Detect systematic giveaway abuse
• Give sellers better reporting tools
• Enforce its existing giveaway rules
• Protect the integrity of Buyer Appreciation Giveaways

We want fair giveaways — not fewer giveaways.
