We are calling on all of you once again to tell the city administration that Westfield citizens will no longer tolerate irresponsible development in our community. Another proposal, called Westchester, will be presented tonight at a Public Hearing during the APC Meeting at City Hall at 7:00 pm. You are welcome to come and speak and will have 3 minutes. However, sending an email is just as effective and the email addresses are below. Here are the facts: The proposed development has 360 homes which is a LARGE development. The development is framed as a way to preserve Wood Wind golf course but there is no written guarantee of that happening. In fact, the purchasers of the land of the golf course can come back with their own development proposal in the future. FYI - the driving range is eliminated for homes. All 18 hole golf courses in Hamilton County have a range. If it sounds suspicious, it should. You are already paying the highest school tax referendum in the state because of the rampant growth in our city. Our kids are in crowded classrooms, riding crowded busses and 5 out of 8 Westfield schools dropped a letter grade this year on the State A-F Report Card. The schools need time to catch up and fix these problems. We are so lucky to have outstanding teachers at our schools but will they stay as they deal with all of these problems? This proposal would add another estimated 180 kids to the schools. We apologize to burden you once again, especially during the busy holiday season, but your help is urgently needed. Please email the Mayor, City Council and APC today to say you do not support Westchester, another huge development in our community.
