How is it fair that every other year at Western is allowed to have in person learning? How is it fair that every other university is opening their residences before February? Even elementary schools are in person, with much higher transmission rates and an increase of negative externalities. 

The mental health of first year students will be negatively impacted greatly by this non-sensical decision, and proves why Western will not be a top choice for students in the coming years. This decision not only impacts the students, but also the families who are now put at increased exposure for the coming months, and even the University's reputation.

Western promised that after being vaccinated, wearing masks and staying distanced that first years would return in person. We are revealed of the administration deceitful ways and their inability to factor in anyone's agenda but their own. First years signed up for IN PERSON learning. If they didn't want that, they would've signed up for online courses. Let the students make their own decisions.
