Dear Friend of the Barclay Grounds,
If you eat lunch or dinner at Iron Hill Brewery in West Chester on Monday November 10th and present the coupon that you will find at the SaveTheBarclayGrounds.org website (http://www.savethebarclaygrounds.org/event/975/ ) Iron Hill has generously offered to donate 20% of your food bill to the Barclay Grounds Preservation Alliance (BGPA) to help save the Barclay Grounds. Please share this e-mail with friends, neighbors and co-workers - and enjoy a fun time and great food for a good cause. I look forward to seeing you there.
If you would like to work up an appetite beforehand you may also want to attend West Chester Borough Council's Open House to discuss the "Comprehensive Plan" that is currently being developed. These plans are created every 10 years and lay out the parameters for development in the Borough in the coming decade - including open space and parks. It would be helpful if you could voice your opinion regarding the preservation of the Barclay Grounds to Michael Kotter (the new Borough Manager) and any Council Members who are in attendance. I have copied and pasted the pertinent section from Carolyn Committa's recent e-mail regarding the Comprehensive Plan Open House below.
"The Borough of West Chester’s Comprehensive Plan Task Force invites you to attend it’s open house at the Melton Center, 501 E. Miner St., on Monday November 10th 2014. Learn about the planning, growth and development issues and challenges facing West Chester, and provide your input on defining a vision and guidelines for the Borough’s future. You will be able to provide written and verbal feedback to the Task Force on a series of comprehensive planning issues at a series of information stations, at your convenience. The open house begins at 4:30 pm and will conclude at 8:00 pm. To assist with your engagement with the Task Force, a formal presentation about the status of the Task Force’s work, the issues facing the Borough, and the open house’s logistics will be made at 5pm and will be repeated at 6:00 pm."
Best Wishes,
John Cottage
