Actuary Stephen Goss indicates indirectly that WEP affectees are beneficial for budget calculations because "such individuals are less dependent on the OASDI benefit that relates to their own career average earnings level".
You read that right. SSA can benefit from us because we are not getting back what we paid in for our own earnings. Did Mr. Goss think we wouldn't be reading this?

The Honorable Bernie Sanders United States Senate and The Honorable Peter DeFazio United States House of Representatives introduced legislation to enhance Social Security benefits and ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program and wrote a letter to the Chief Actuary Stephen Goss requesting estimates of the financial effects on Social Security Expansion Act without requesting to include and address the repeal of WEP and GPO into that study. The letter depicts 2 million citizens Social Security benefits being reduced as being a benefit to the budget calculations, the truth is those earning our own career earning that entitled us to receive full Social Security benefits and it is unfairly being striped from us. The Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset should be repealed and the Senate and House should conduct oversight hearing into the Chief Actuary statement.
