10 people were tragically killed and lost their lives and 3 other people were shot and injured because of the actions of a mentally disturbed young man with hatred misguided intentions at the TOPs Friendly Market in Buffalo New York, one of the individuals killed was also a former Buffalo Police Officer Aaron Salter. Aaron Salter was the lone security guard on duty inside of the Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo on Saturday. He heard the volley of gunfire in the parking lot as it began. Rather than flee, Aaron made the conscious and heroic decision to engage the gunman with his sidearm should he walk through the front doors. With three decades of police training under his belt, he stood ready; and when the suspect entered armed with a rifle, Aaron opened fire. His rounds struck the suspect, but they failed to penetrate the heavy body armor that he was wearing. During that gun battle, Aaron was killed. 10 people lost their lives in that shooting before the gunman was taken into custody.
Aaron Salter proudly served the Buffalo Police Department for 30 years before retiring 4 years ago. After leaving the job, Aaron started his own company, and turned his focus towards fulfilling his dream of building sustainable vehicles that run on a green energy source. He was a brilliant scientist who held patents and inventions to one day help power a car using water as an alternative gasoline. It was his passion. Friends and co-workers recall him as being one of the most intelligent and selfless people they’d ever met, and they’re not surprised that he gave his life trying to protect the customers inside of the Tops Market. He was 55-years old.
Aaron Saltar and the other 9 individuals lost their lives. Some of these individuals leaves behind a wife or husband and a child or children. President Biden called Aaron Salter a hero and rightfully so for the actions he took trying to save innocent lives that day but his survivors and the other nine individuals that were shamlessly gunned down survivors, might not be able to collect any or part of on their Social Security survivors benefits because of Government Pension Offset and the 3 other individuals that were shot and survived their injuries will not be able to collect their entire SSA benefits possibly having it reduced as much as $512 dollars if they are effected by Windfall Elimination Provisions.
More than 2.5 million people dedicated to public service, including many educators, police, firefighters, nurses, state and municipal wokers, along with other workers have their Social Security benefits reduced—or lose them entirely—due to the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO).
The WEP reduces the Social Security benefits of people who work in jobs covered by Social Security and jobs NOT covered by Social Security over the course of their careers—for example, educators compelled to take part-time or summer jobs to make ends meet.
The GPO reduces the Social Security spousal or survivor benefits of people who get a government pension (federal, state or local) but did NOT pay Social Security taxes themselves.
Please support the Social Security Fairness Act and the Social Security 2100 Act to fully repeal both the GPO and WEP.

Please request The White House or its Representatives make a national remark or broadcast advising the Nation of the harmful affects of WEP and GPO and that our Senstors and Representatives have the power to repeal this law by cosponsoring H.R 82 / S. 1302 and passing this legislation or bringing the legislation to the House Floor passing it, sending it to the Senate Floor passing it and sending it on the Presidents desk for his signature.
