The United States Senate Special Committee on Aging was initially established in 1961 as a temporary committee; it became a permanent Senate committee in 1977. As a special committee, it has no legislative authority, but it studies issues related to older Americans, particularly Medicare and Social Security.[1]
The United States Senate Special Committee on Aging deals with particularly Medicare and Social Security but 8 of its 14 Senators are not cosponsors of S. 1302 Social Security Fairness Act.
The below listed members should not be on The United States Senate Special Committee on Aging if they studied the issues related to older Americans and don't realize that WEP and GPO legislation need to be fully repealed.

More than 2.5 million people dedicated to public service, including many educators, have their Social Security benefits reduced—or lose them entirely—due to the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO).
The WEP reduces the Social Security benefits of people who work in jobs covered by Social Security and jobs NOT covered by Social Security over the course of their careers—for example, educators compelled to take part-time or summer jobs to make ends meet.
The GPO reduces the Social Security spousal or survivor benefits of people who get a government pension (federal, state or local) but did NOT pay Social Security taxes themselves.
The reduction of Social-Security benefits, that can be as much as $512 or survivor benefits being total eliminated in some cases. Representative Mike Johnson of Louisiana calls the legislation criminal.
