Senator Bernie Sanders in September 2018 started the Expand Social Security Caucus and stated this “Well today, along with 17 of my Senate colleagues and more than 140 of my House colleagues, I am announcing the Expand Social Security Caucus to make sure seniors can retire with the dignity they deserve,” Sanders said.
The caucus was organized with assistance from Social Security Works, an advocacy nonprofit seeking to unite lawmakers behind expanding Social Security, according to the organization’s communications director, Linda Benesch.
“The goals of the caucus … [are] not to promote any one specific piece of legislation,” Benesch told The Hill, noting there are multiple expansion bills Democrats have introduced in the House and Senate that could benefit from the caucus’s support."
Well today there are 18 Senators and 113 Representatives on the Expand Social Security Caucus. Although the Caucus doesn't promote one specific piece of legislation as stated by Linda Benesch of Social Security Works, there are two pieces of legislation in Congress to repeal Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset S.1302 and H.R. 82 that needs to be supported to help over 2 million citizens that are being harmed. In fact Representatives Mike Johnson stated it is criminal in a recent speech.
Of the 18 Senators on the Caucus three are not cosponsors to include the Chair of The Senate Financial Committee Ron Wyden also Senators Brian Schatz and Kristen Gillbrand.

Of the 113 Representatives on the Caucus 13 are not cosponsors of H.R. 82 to include The Chair of The Ways and Means Committee Richard Neal, The Chair of the Social Security Subcommittee John Larson. Members on the Social Security Subcommittee Representatives Bill Pascrell, Linda Sanchez and Terri Sewell. Members on the Ways and Means Committee are Representatives Stacey Plaskett, Adam Smith, Dan Kildee. The list below are all the Representatives that are not cosponsors.
