A big thanks for all your support to keep Swansea Sound/Sain Abertawe local. We've just reached (at the time of writing this) another milestone of 951 signatures (yes, we're feeling nostalgic again).
I'd also like to point out that the introduction and running of his petition is no way connected to staff at the radio station, but simply by people who are passionate about its history, its values and for what it has contributed to Swansea and surrounding areas over nearly half a century. It's an important resource that South West Wales can ill afford to lose.
Where else (other than very occasionally on BBC Wales), will you ever hear mention on a regular basis such place names as Sketty, Neath, Ystradgynlais, Port Talbot, Mumbles? And where listeners have special connections with presenters who help to support local people and organisations through charity fund raising campaigns?
We lose Swansea Sound and we lose all of this. It will never return!
So please keep sharing the link. Use #saveswanseasound across social media. Make your friends, family, Members of the Senedd and Parliamentary representatives aware of our fight to keep our station local. Broadcasting isn't devolved to Wales, so our aim is to cascade our message to Parliament.
