People in Coimbatore have been putting up with the worst roads for a few years now. The situation has only been getting worse. Open drains, open sewage, road blocks, diversions, crater sized potholes - the magnitude of the problem has only been getting worse. Every morning you leave home for work and you can never predict how much time it's going to take or which route you are going to be diverted to! Not to mention what this to doing to our backs  - I'm sure the corporation assumes that we are spineless by now. With these conditions continuing, one thing is guaranteed - busy orthopedic hospitals and emergency ops! What used to take me 4 mins now takes me 20-30 minutes! Yesterday I was on my way to work, by the time I got there my little 2 year old and 4 year-old patients were restless and in tears. The doctor's can't get to the patients and neither the patients to the doctors on time! Last week a father on a scooter who was on his way to drop his children at school fell into a pothole right in front of my car! I'm sure this is a familiar scenario to most of you. The cars and our bones are getting ricketty and rattly. Coimbatore! Why are we shutting up? Why aren't we protesting? What are we paying taxes for?
