The skateboarding scene in Southern Maryland has been long underserved. With Dunkirk District Park hosting Calvert County's sole skatepark, there have long been discussions about building a new skatepark in the Southern end of the county. A new skatepark has topped community polls for amenities desired in the southern end of the county. However, following the recent acquisition of Dominion Energy Regional Park (DERP), plans for a skatepark are noticeably absent from the many amenities planned for the park. Help us let Calvert County Parks and Recreation know that we want a new skatepark at DERP!
