We The People Call for Unity: Remove Scandal Imagery From WhiteHouse.gov

The Issue

WhiteHouse.gov is an official government resource used by schools, referenced by media, and viewed globally as a representation of American values.

Recently, the official “Major Events Timeline” displayed imagery and captions highlighting the personal failings of political opponents in a way that undermines civic neutrality and does not reflect the values and aspirations we wish to pass on to future generations.

This content:

• increases division
• elevates hostility
• damages global credibility
• sets a confusing example for young Americans

As a nation, we are being called to “lower the temperature” and “heal our nation.” Official government sites have the opportunity to reflect that invitation not inflame division or escalate hostility.

Our children learn what leadership looks like by watching us.
The international community understands our values by how we treat one another publicly.

This is a moment to rise, not retaliate.
We can disagree with honor.
We can debate with facts.
We can lead with character.

You can view the “Major Events Timeline” here:

Government communication is an opportunity to model maturity, unity, and respect focusing on achievements, collaboration inspiring pride and hope for all visitors to the site. Removing scandal-based imagery will not erase history, but it will encourage a more constructive approach to archival and education on our official Government platforms are a chance to reflect the best of us, not the worst. The official White House website should always unify the American people.

Therefore:

We The People request the removal of scandal-based imagery and personal attack content from the WhiteHouse.gov timeline.

We The People request that official public-facing communication remain neutral, respectful, and educational in tone.

We The People request the creation of published content standards defining what belongs on taxpayer-funded, government-run public resources.

We The People ask for standards worthy of the office and request government resources remain examples of civics, character, and respect.

We The People request that no administration — present or future — may weaponize official government websites against citizens or political opponents.

We The People request oversight to maintain child-appropriate, example-worthy civic material accessible to school systems nationwide.

Please join us in urging the WhiteHouse.gov team to make this pivotal change. Every signature counts towards creating a more respectful and positively influenced digital world. Sign this petition today to ensure our national website reflects our best values and aspirations for the future.
