It has been long enough. It's time for an exodus.


YouTube has been going on it's downfall ever since August 13th, 2025.

First, they decide to strike the US and the UK with the AI age verification system, no thanks to the UK itself applying this rule. Age verification systems on it's own are untrustworthy. However, YouTube left this moderation system to an AI. An AI who's almost typically wrong 99.5% of the time, meaning most of the people who were actually old enough got affected anyways, instead of doing the actually smart choice and letting both an human and an AI assess the channels, so that the human can actually confirm if the AI is wrong or not. But instead, they decide letting exclusively an AI decide on what to do is the "smarter" plan.

Then they began spreading it worldwide, with Switzerland, Germany, god knows whatever other countries.

Then, the rest of YouTube's moderation system was left to the same "incorrect a lot of the time and is mostly dumb" AI, resulting in at least in these few months, nearly 3 million accounts being banned, including tech channels, people who were barely aligned with tech at all, and even just outright random people.

And then, if that wasn't bad enough, YouTube then launched an AI filter which was supposed to make short form and eventually long form content better, which it didn't. Not at all. To the point where it has actually began hurting people. A glitch with this filter made it so that the video would begin flashing occasionally, which could be enough to trip someone's epilepsy. YouTube was now outright hurting people.

YouTube has also been butchering every last one of their features. Their search feature? Outright abysmal now. Custom captions? Completely out the window. Your own feed? Stuffed and clogged with AI slop that rots the brain. Soon, they might even go for comment sections, entire videos, hell, you might not even have the ability to watch or make content on the platform anymore!

And if all of what you just heard wasn't enough, Google decided to roll out one more extremely absurd update: now if Google detects that your entire account is under 13, instead of just notifying you, or changing setting, they decide disabling your entire account in 14 days is a worthy punishment for being misrepresented as a child. Google is now willing to make themselves lose more supporters than gain them. What.

So I say, enough is enough. If they want to lose viewers so bad, so be it. If we can't have YouTube normally, no one can.

There's only one solution I can come up with in these trying times, when they're pulling this nonsense, and that solution is to just mass quit YouTube. If we can permanently boycott this platform, if we can create an exodus large enough to hit their finances, they'll learn to not trust everything with AI. If we can't fix this platform, and if we can't fight it head on or within the platform, then the only thing we can do, is just move on from it.

After signing this petition, it's recommended you stop using YouTube. Migrate to other sites. Use the Internet Archive if you wish to view YouTube videos without directly heading to the site. We can't change their minds, but we can change their wallets. If enough of us are persistent, we might be able to affect the bottom line.
