Florida Governor DeSantis signed a legislation (HB 1645) which restricts the expansion of wind turbines and restores the fossil fuel industry in the name of public welfare and the economy. HB 1645 also removes 50 lines of state law that protected the environment by forcing lawmakers to act in the interest of stabilizing our rapidly heating planet by promoting clean energy. Is it truely in the best interest of Floridians to utilize a limited resource as our main energy source for short term gain when we know there will be long term consequences? Our future generations deserve a planet they can build something with, not a husk of its former glory due to the greed of their predecessors.
