87% of Americans favor term limits for members of Congress, per a September 2023 Pew poll. We need to vote for politicians who commit to enacting term limits for Congress. 

Congress has a 16% approval rating. We need to enact term limits to reduce corruption, promote accountability, enhance competition, and prevent career politicians.

Incumbents who have been in office for extended periods may become more susceptible to corruption, as they have more time to develop cozy relationships with lobbyists and special interest groups. Term limits can help disrupt these potentially corrupting ties.

Term limits can help prevent the entrenchment of incumbents and reduce the risk of politicians becoming disconnected from the needs and desires of their constituents. They can foster increased competition in elections, as there are no entrenched incumbents with an inherent advantage. This can encourage a more robust democratic process with multiple qualified candidates.

Finally, term limits can discourage the development of a class of career politicians who may prioritize their own interests over those of the public, leading to a more citizen-focused government.
