We need Caroline's Carts at Walmart Stores Across Canada!!!!
The Issue

My son Stalen is 11 years old, autistic, and medically complex. Simple tasks, like going to a store and picking out birthday presents or groceries, should be moments of joy and learning for him, but without the right supports, they turn into challenges. For families like ours, Caroline's Carts have become an essential part of ensuring our loved ones can experience shopping in a safe and dignified way.
Caroline’s Carts are specially designed shopping carts that provide a secure seating area for individuals with mobility challenges, allowing them to truly participate in the shopping experience. These carts are not mere conveniences; they offer independence and dignity to those who face daily mobility and accessibility barriers.
Across our communities, many special needs families face the same barriers Stalen and I do. Without options like Caroline’s Carts, performing everyday errands becomes a strenuous task, often leading to feelings of exclusion and frustration for both the caregiver and the individual with special needs.
Currently, not all Walmart Canada stores provide these essential resources, leaving countless families with no choice but to forgo the independence and inclusion Caroline's Carts offer. We need Caroline’s cart at every Walmart store in Canada.
Walmart Canada can play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive environment by partnering with Caroline's Carts to ensure at least one cart is available at their locations. We urge Walmart Canada to implement this change. Not only will this benefit special needs families, but it will also show a deep commitment to customer service and community inclusion.
Ensuring accessibility should not be a privilege but a standard. As we move toward advocating for wider implementation, I call upon parents, allies, and community members to support this initiative. Your signature can make a tangible difference in the lives of families like mine—opening doors to more independent and inclusive outings.
Please sign and help us spread the word. Together, we can create a world where everyone, regardless of their needs, can shop with dignity and ease.
