We need better care after functional neurological disorder diagnosis

We need better care after functional neurological disorder diagnosis
The Issue
Demand Better Funded Care and Support for FND Patients in Scotland
Since our launch in October 2025, Glasgow fnd awareness support circle has grown to over 575 members dedicated to making a difference. Your support can help us reach more people and create lasting change.
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a complex and often misunderstood condition that affects thousands of people across Scotland. It can cause a wide range of symptoms, including weakness, movement disorders, sensory issues, and cognitive difficulties, significantly impacting quality of life.
Despite the profound challenges faced by those with FND, many patients struggle to access the specialised care and treatment they need due to insufficient funding, lack of awareness, and limited services. This results in long waiting times, inadequate support, and a lack of understanding from healthcare providers.
We believe that no one should have to suffer in silence or face barriers to proper care. That’s why we are calling on the Scottish government to prioritise funding for FND services, ensuring that:
- Patients receive timely diagnosis and treatment
- Multidisciplinary teams are established to provide comprehensive care
- Healthcare professionals are trained to understand and manage FND effectively
- Support networks are expanded to help patients and their families
Everyone affected by FND deserves access to proper, respectful, and effective healthcare.

Sign our petition to demand increased funding and better services for FND in Scotland. Together, we can raise awareness, promote understanding, and ensure that FND patients receive the care they need and deserve.
Please share this post to help us reach more people and make a real difference in the lives of those living with FND.
