Food for thought ....A hefty parking charge to go visit an ailing relative ....Is it fair?

I happened to go visit a friend in emergency who is struggling to make both ends meet .....offered to pay the parking charge for her mother who was a retired senior who wanted to be with her daughter but had to count her coffee change to pay for parking  at the hospital.

I couldn't help but wonder ....Does an ailing patient or her already stressed relative need the added financial burden?

Parking rates were cut in half in 2016 but they should be FREE as part of FREE healthcare system. Is there something we can do to ease the big dent in the pocket in the name of parking charge at the hospital?

Shopping Malls, Court Houses, Restaurants, all provide free parking to cater to their customers. We live in a country which claims free healthcare system and we pay hefty taxes to avail the same and yet parking is paid. It should be part of the hospital system and should be made available free of cost. its not only expensive but unfair to people to pay such hefty cost to spend time with an ailing loved one.
