📢 COMMUNITY ACTION: PROTEST MARCH AGAINST CRIME
Dear Neighbours in Werribee and Wyndham community members,
Our community has had enough of the rising crime in Werribee and across Victoria. From violent attacks at our shopping centres to thefts, break-ins, and assaults, families, seniors, and small businesses no longer feel safe. Time for our local MP John Lister to give us answers.......
We are calling for a peaceful protest march on 5th September at 11am in front of Mr. John Lister’s office to demand urgent action from the State Government on crime and community safety. We need to step up and come forward with solutions, not inaction...
What we’re asking for:
More police presence and patrols in Werribee and surrounding areas.
Stricter penalties for violent and repeat offenders, Break bail face Jail....
Working with Children Checks stricter rules and regulations......
Greater investment in community safety measures (lighting, CCTV, youth programs).
Protection for families, seniors, and businesses.
Labor has failed our state of Victoria...

Armed robbery at JD Sports, Werribee Plaza (Aug 21, 2025): A group wielding hammers – and one person reportedly armed with both a hammer and a knife – stole clothing from JD Sports. A 15-year-old male was arrested; the remaining offenders remain at large.Herald Sun

Teacher pleads guilty to child sex offenses (August 2025): A former Werribee teacher admitted to multiple counts of child sexual penetration and was slated for sentencing in November, causing significant distress in the school community.
