We, the people of Smith County in the State of Texas and city of Tyler, demand that Smith County Commissioner, Terry Phillips and his Wife Karen Phillips, Smith County Clerk, resign from their positions. They are a total embarrassment and have no respect for law enforcement officials. Karen Phillips was arrested after allegedly attempting to interfere with the arrest of her son. Karen Phillips could be heard on multiple video clips of the incident using foul language directed at Smith County Deputies. Terry Phillips, Karen Phillips and their son have been known to make videos of themselves being pulled over for purposely having a taillight out on their vehicle. Once pulled over they show great disrespect for the officers. This can be seen on their TikTok page, Thin Blue Line Accountability. Their other son went to Commissioners Court and tried to speak on behalf of his family but was shut down. Do we want these kinds of people having authority in our County? I think not.
