For very personal reasons, which are quite obvious to many, I find that there is no need to keep these emojis (🙃 and 🙂) in the emoji repertoire. Emojis are meant to enhance our communication and help us express our feelings in a simple and effective way. However, when looking closely at these two emojis, they are not only irrelevant but can also be misunderstood and misused. In 2020, emojis were used in 92% of online communication (source: Adobe Emoji Report 2020). Given this high rate, it is important that every emoji available has a positive impact on our communication.
