It's too late to apologize for the damage that's been done. We demand that CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott resign immediately for coordinating a campaign of lies and misinformation resulting in significant damage to Big Bend National Park. He must step aside for impartial criminal investigations to begin in Congress while evidence for Big Bend border plans is subpoenaed to determine why these illegal no-bid contracts were authorized in an area of low illegal entry in the first place. We believe in bipartisan border control and we're going to ensure that CBP follows the law. 

This is not about immigration or politics - this is about rogue federal agencies who have irreparably damaged Texans' land and the criminals who are letting them do it. We aren't letting them off the hook this time. 

On August 13, 2026, Rodney Scott released a press statement insisting that “construction” had not begun in Big Bend National Park. Only after public outcry and photographic evidence proving that this was a lie did Rodney announce on 8/17/26 that he was “pausing construction" in BBNP until he could review the site and meet with locals. Scott is caught in a stunning lie and this is a damning admission. Either Scott waived 30+ federal regulations for a 150+ mile construction project through protected national parkland without reviewing the site at all, or he's engaged in a coordinated campaign of lies against the American people. His decisions exhibit reckless incompetence & open malignance towards the rule of law - Texans will tolerate neither.

CBP & Abbott had 6 months to prevent this - in March they stated they would not destroy the natural areas in the region and pursue non-invasive border strategies. Mariscal Mountain, various protected areas like Santa Elena Canyon, and numerous roads in the park have been significantly damaged. We do not care what Rodney or CBP concludes from their visit, as they have lied at every step of this process and fundamentally severed the public trust in this project. 

We are not asking - we protest statewide every single week in Dallas, Houston, Austin, & San Antonio. Then we take these protests nationwide until Rodney Scott steps aside, congressional investigations are guaranteed, and Governor Abbott is removed from office for betraying great state of Texas. In the midterms we ensure this. By signing this petition you are supporting a process of accountability & transparency that safeguards the public's needs while holding those accountable who have repeatedly undermined our institutions, values, and Texas' greatest gift to the nation.
