Canada stands in a unique position as the final G7 nation yet to establish a comprehensive school lunch program. As concerned residents of Chatham-Kent, we recognize the critical need to invest in our children's health and well-being while simultaneously supporting families in managing the rising cost of groceries. The initiative aims to launch its mission right here in our community by providing free, nutritious lunches to students, with the potential to transform lives across our region and beyond.  We Are One Inc., is a social enterprise focused on building scalable work force-driven solutions that nourish minds, build skills and strengthen our shared future.

We are currently engaged in discussions with a key community partner regarding a facility that could serve as the first home of the We Are One Regenerative Hub. This hub will become the foundation of our mission, providing the space needed to prepare and distribute healthy meals, create meaningful training and employment opportunities, and establish a model that can be expanded into communities across Canada as the initiative grows.

By preparing lunches in collaboration with local restaurants and food partners, this initiative will support our hospitality industry while strengthening connections with local farmers and producers. The Regenerative Hub will also offer skill-building opportunities for youth and individuals seeking hands-on experience, helping prepare them for the workforce while creating lasting economic and social benefits for Chatham-Kent.
