Wayne State to Repeal Vaccine Mandate for the 2021-2022 School year.

Wayne State to Repeal Vaccine Mandate for the 2021-2022 School year.
The Issue
In response to the August 3rd email to Wayne State University that states: “Wayne State will require all students, faculty and staff who plan to be on campus during the fall semester to receive their COVID-19 vaccination. Proof of your vaccination must be submitted by Aug. 30 for you to be allowed on campus”...
We demand that the University repeal this mandate in order to protect the freedom of choice. Each student, faculty and staff member has the right to make informed decisions about their body and their health. The current vaccine mandate forces each adult to make a decision on whether to take a non-FDA approved drug or to forgo their educational opportunities at this university. We believe that this choice is unfair and unjust.
Each person should have the right to choose how to care for themselves. This mandate coerces students to take the one of Covid-19 Vaccines, each of which comes with their own risks. This mandate encourages students and staff to shortcut their critical thinking and risk assessment process in order to achieve a measure of “normalcy”.
Wayne State's stated mission is to: “create and advance knowledge, prepare a diverse student body to thrive, and positively impact local and global communities.”
This vaccine mandate undermines two of these stated values. It undermines the tenet of diversity. By forcing students to choose between their convictions and their education, inevitably students and faculty will leave the university. This will lead to a homogenous landscape of ideas and values, spitting in the face of true diversity. This mandate also undermines the commitment to prepare students to thrive. By encouraging students to get vaccinated without weighing for themselves their unique circumstances and health, the University is not encouraging critical thinking or risk assessment, both of which are essential for an adult to thrive in their sphere.
Thus, we demand that this mandate be repealed for the good of the whole university.
There will be a protest this upcoming Saturday, August 7th at noon. Please meet us at this address 5266 Anthony Wayne Dr, Detroit, MI 48202. We will be fighting for our medical freedom and will be sharing the gospel with the people all around. Please come and join our effort. Please share and contact me if you are interested.
