The village voted unanimously at their meeting on April 8th to settle the lawsuit for $390,000 (paid to Mr. Wall by village's insurer). Settling does not give Mr. Wall an automatic rezoning or new public hearings on the item. Rather, all claims are waived between the parties and there will be rezoning. The people of Waunakee effectively used their voices against the development and the efforts resulted in the stoppage of the development. Despite victory being declared with this petition, there is still more work to do. Issues remain involving Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) districts, the continued growth and approvals for high-end housing developments, and governmental transparency/inclusion of citizen input. It is up to the people of Waunakee to use their voices as they did with the T. Wall development to create beneficial and needed change involving the other issues. Thus, since the T.
