I am writing to urge you to persuade John Lewis to re-open in Watford.  There has been a branch of John Lewis in Watford for decades and it is the only decent department store serving Watford and the surrounding area. Customers come from St Albans, Berkhamsted, Harrow to shop in John Lewis, and its demise would be disastrous for local shoppers.  With the loss of the brand new Debenhams in Watford, we desperately need to retain John Lewis to serve the needs of local customers.  Perhaps a reasonable rent could be negotiated so that John Lewis could remain in the town? I urge you to consider this proposal.
