Water is a PUBLIC RIGHT - Stop water privatization
Water is a PUBLIC RIGHT - Stop water privatization
The Issue
Why is this important?
Water is our most essential resource — a resource that belongs to us all and essential for all life. But there are far too many people around the world who do not have access to clean, safe water: a basic human right. One in four people do not have access to enough safe, clean water to drink, cook, and bathe. In fact, more people die from unsafe water than from all forms of violence, including war. And water systems around the world, including in the U.S., are failing or are in danger of failing because of a lack of critically needed investment.
This water crisis is only deepened by the actions of transnational water corporations that exploit the global crisis to gain control of and commodify water. My petition is to heighten the awareness of the problems of water privatization and the need to act stop and or prevent it before leaving communities to suffer in the control of corporations. We demand the government to keep its promise not to privatize water! You must give up your demand for water privatization in the interest of big companies but to stand in for the rights of the people.
Let us support resistance in the U.S. and worldwide!
