Good evening:

Today, Traci Davis responded to our protest. We take that as a small victory considering getting a response at all has been so difficult. This response was the typical spin response and it does not inspire benefit of the doubt in us. 

Ignoring the issues citizens demand answers to and attempting to playcate citizens with (B)ia(S)ed statistics isn’t going to satisfy. We are not just some group of citizens venting and we will not be smothered by toxic positivity (the tactic of so many local politicians and officials in our area currently). “Let’s ignore what needs attention and focus on what may be good instead,” is the public officials’ way of condescending to us to, “calm down.”

Do not tell us to calm down. Give us answers.

Attempting to distract us from the issues harming our district with watered down achievements is only going to fuel this petition further. Look at what our poor teachers are asked to endure to get those statistics up!! Absolutely unacceptable, ma’am.

CITIZENS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO ATTEND BOARD MEETINGS TO RECEIVE THE CLEAR AND TRANSPARENT INFORMATION WE HAVE A RIGHT TO RECEIVE. PERIOD.

Hold these meetings at times where we are not working to feed our families if you want us there. 

Citizens, do not be fooled by these tactics. Continue to share this petition. Continue to demand transparency and accountability. Stand with us and apply pressure to those who owe this to our district, our community, and our children.

Lastly on this update, a note to parents. We need to be involved in the education of our children. If you have it in you, send your child’s teacher and email TONIGHT. Ask them, “What can I do to help you with my child?” Empower your child’s teacher to be in contact with you and accept when the news may not be what you want to hear. These teachers are doing an INCREDIBLE job in extremely difficult conditions. They want the best for your children. Help them achieve that.

We love you, Washoe County. We will continue to stand along side people of integrity like Joe Hart and demand the highest moral and ethical standard from our area’s top offices.
