This Update is URGENT. We have been waiting for the Wildlife Trust to carry out their promised Public Consultation on the proposed plans for Piles Coppice, but it doesn't look as though it is going to happen.

However, we have just learned that there is now a felling proposal on the Forestry Commission website and we need to send in objections to it before the 7th of April or the felling in Piles Coppice and the other woods in Brandon Reach may be given the go ahead.

It seems that public opinion and Tree Preservation Orders count for nothing.

We've been given the following link to reach the proposal:

https://forester.maps.arcgis.com/apps/CrowdsourcePolling/index.html?appid=6bc1fd7f76fa41cf85866092532e0c1c

You need to put Coventry into the 'Find address or place' box on the top left and double click the search symbol to access the details, then click on the Reference No. FL-015-947-2021 that appears on the right and put an objection in the 'Comments' box.

Alternatively, please email Simon West who is the Warwickshire woodlands officer at the Forestry Commission

simon.west@forestrycommission.gov.uk

and quote the above Ref No. with an objection to the proposed felling in Piles Coppice.

Coventry MP Zarah Sultana is supporting this petition and the Rugby councillor for the Piles Coppice area is asking that as many people as possible send objections to the Forestry Commission.

Please help us to do this and ask anyone else who knows and loves this wood to do the same.

THANK YOU.
