We have just heard that Willow Tits are Britain's fastest declining birds, over 90% have disappeared since 1970 due to habitat loss. But, very exciting news, they are alive and well in Piles Coppice. Heard, seen and filmed this weekend.
They are one of at least 8 red-listed birds that are present in this woodland and we firmly believe that this is because it has remained undisturbed for so long.
If you live locally, now is the very best time to visit. The bluebells are rapidly appearing and the birdsong from over 30 different birds is just amazing.
