Hey all. Feeling better and getting back into more art and character designs! This next character design is important to me: It’s Riley’s grandmother, Sharon Humerus. ��������
She was inspired by Eda Clawthorne from #TheOwlHouse, @wendiemalick herself, Aunt May from the #UltimateSpiderMan TV show, Moana’s grandmother, and most importantly my own grandmother, Sharon Hupe.
Riley’s grandmother is half white blood cell and half muscle cell (Cream yellow colored!), and originally came from Hector’s mother, and in her youth, was an adventurous and spirited soul like her granddaughter. She’d met her husband Robin Humerus, and gave birth to their daughter and Riley’s mother Marie, who later in life met and married Peter Cadherin.
The Cadherins, when Hector was developing in his mother, had moved with several other cells to him before his birth in hopes that a new young body would help to raise their own children, as Mrs. Cruz was now more than capable of taking care of herself health-wise. When the time came, Sharon and Robin joined them on the journey through the umbilical cord, and their lives in Hector began once he was born. Despite the civilization inside just beginning, it was a fine and strong place with new opportunities ahead, and the hope to help this new body thrive in the world.
Riley was born shortly after their arrival.
Riley’s grandmother was one of her closest relatives apart from her parents and brother, and Sharon always encouraged her to grab life by the nerves and enjoy every second of it. To chase after adventure and to believe in the impossible, even when things look bleak. She is also quite skilled in bowling, enjoys yoga, and tries a few new things others would be shocked at and think that she couldn’t do!
She is fierce, kind, loving, funny, and has quite a bit of sass in her. A cool grandma and a pillar of strength for all.
Just like gram was.
Still hard to believe you passed away this year. It feels like you’ve been gone forever already. Miss you tons-o. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.
Love you Grandma. Hope you’re jamming to The Bee Gees right now.
